These are the rules for using Midnight Novels. They are in plain words on purpose. Please read them before you pay.

Midnight Novels is operated by Odin Studio Inc., a Canadian federal corporation, corporation number 1815990-4, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Odin Studio Inc. "You" means the person using Midnight Novels.

Every chapter shows its real price before you unlock it.

Chapters one to three of every book are free, with no card and no account.

The price page at midnightnovels.com/pricing shows what is free and what each paid thing costs.

Midnight Novels is for readers 18 and over.

You must have the right to use the card or the account you pay with.

You do not need an account to look around or to pay.

Before you have an account, we remember you with a cookie that holds a random id. In that browser you can try what is free, pay, and use what you paid for.

To use what you bought on another device, make an account. You type your email and we email you a 6-digit code. No password, ever.

Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, so keep your email safe.

What you pay

Full Library: US$129.99 today, then every year until you cancel. Every book, up to 300 chapters a day. Cancel in one tap from any email we send, no sign-in. Full refund within 30 days, no questions.

A coin pack does not renew. Full refund within 30 days if you have not used it. Cancelling a plan does not affect coins you already hold.

Coins you buy never expire, and neither do a pack's bonus coins.

First purchase only: double coins on the US$4.99 or US$9.99 pack (1,000 or 2,000 coins in all), instead of that pack's own bonus. The offer is once per account and lasts 48 hours from the first chapter you find locked.

Full Library also gives 350 coins every 4 weeks while the plan is active.

Prices are in US dollars unless the price page shows another currency beside the price.

The payment screen shows the full amount before you pay. That amount is what we charge. We add nothing after you pay.

Plans that renew

A plan is a subscription. It renews on its own until you cancel it.

Each time a plan renews, we charge the plan's price to the same card or account again. That happens on the first day of each new period. The list above gives the price and the period of each plan. Your receipt and your account page give the date of your next charge.

Before you pay for a plan, you tick a box to say you agree that it renews.

We email you a receipt after every charge.

Emails before a charge

For a yearly plan, we email you 35 days before it renews and again 7 days before. Each email gives the amount, the date and a link to cancel.

If the price of a plan you already have is going to change, we email you first. The email gives the old price, the new price, the date it starts and a link to cancel.

How to cancel

Cancel in one tap from any email we send, no sign-in: open its cancel link and tap Cancel my plan. It stops in the same tap. Signed in, or in the browser you paid with, midnightnovels.com/settings/cancel does the same.

You do not have to call, write or give a reason.

Cancelling stops the next charge and every charge after it. Your plan keeps working until the last day you already paid for.

We email you to say it is cancelled.

If a charge fails

If a renewal charge fails, we email you so you can update your card. We retry the charge at most 2 times. If it still fails, your plan is cancelled and nothing more is charged.

We never charge you again after you cancel.

Things you buy once

Some things are sold once. The price page says which. They are charged once. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.

Tax

Where sales tax applies, it is added to the price and shown on the card payment page before you pay. The total on that page is the total you are charged.

Who sells it to you

Midnight Novels is sold on midnightnovels.com in the United States and Canada only.

A charge you do not recognise

See a charge you do not recognise? Look it up at midnightnovels.com/charge. No account is needed.

If you are not happy with Full Library, we refund it in full within 30 days, no questions. Ask within 60 days and a Full Library refund under US$150 is automatic.

A coin pack is refunded in full within 30 days if none of its coins are used.

The refund page at midnightnovels.com/refund says how to ask and what happens next.

Do not use Midnight Novels to break the law, or to hurt, bully or trick anyone.

Do not try to break Midnight Novels, overload it, get around its limits or get into someone else's account.

Do not copy Midnight Novels or sell it on. Do not use a program to pull things out of it in bulk.

Do not pay with a card or an account you have no right to use.

If you break these rules, we may close your account.

A plan on a closed account stops, and nothing more is charged.

Midnight Novels, its name, its design and what we made for it belong to Odin Studio Inc. You may use them only as part of using Midnight Novels.

We work to keep Midnight Novels running. We do not promise that it works every minute or that it never has a fault.

We may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something you paid for, write to support@midnightnovels.com.

You can delete your account at any time at midnightnovels.com/delete-account.

This deletes your account, your email and everything Midnight Novels saved for you.

We keep payment records only as long as tax law requires.

If you have a plan bought on the web: Your plan is cancelled in the same step. Nothing more is charged.

We also keep the record that you agreed to your plan's renewal, for three years or one year after your plan ended, whichever is later, because the law asks us to.

We promise to take proper care in running Midnight Novels, to charge you only what the payment screen showed, to cancel when you ask, and to refund you as the refund page says.

We do not promise that Midnight Novels is always available, that it has no faults, or that it does a job it was not made for.

We are not responsible for a loss that neither you nor we could have expected when you started using Midnight Novels, or for a loss caused by something outside our control.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right that the law where you live gives you as a customer and that cannot be signed away.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and the laws of Canada that apply there.

If the law where you live says you may use your own courts or your own consumer law, these terms do not change that.

If something is wrong, write to support@midnightnovels.com first. The refund page says how to get your money back.

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. We do not make changes quietly.
